Born in Prague, Puhonny became an important landscape painter after studying in Paris under L. Schutzenberger.
His paintings hang in several important European collections including the following museums:
- “Musée des Beaux-Arts” of Strasbourg
- Museum of Carlsrugh
- Museums of Coire, Soleure and Winterthur.
