"This collection is all about the feeling of spring — that burst of energy when everything starts to grow again. I’ve been really inspired by those first little shoots and flowers pushing their way through the soil, using everything they’ve got to reach the light. It’s a bit like nature throwing confetti — colourful, joyful, and full of hope. It’s a celebration of new beginnings and the resilience of nature as it reawakens." – Rosie Harbottle, May 2025

Rosie Harbottle is an artist and designer based on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. Rooted in the natural world and storytelling, her distinctive visual language explores the idiosyncrasies of her surrounding landscape and its changing seasons as a mirror to our interior emotional life. Colour and form are essential to her paintings and drawings. How a plant expresses itself, through the subtle gesture of tendrils or the bold proclamations of petals, speaks to experiences of intimacy, joy, and connection. Throughout her canvases and drawings, plants, flowers, horses, and everyday objects recur as poetic motifs, each imbued with their own personality; and she has said: ‘blooms often represent a person, a memory or a relationship’. Music likewise inspires her creative process, and a song can determine the direction of a painting, creating a sense of rhythm and atmosphere.

Rosie Harbottle has exhibited across the United Kingdom, including most recently at Charleston, Firle (2024) and the Garden Museum, London, as part of a collaboration with TOAST for their Spring-Summer 2024 collection, Outdoor Pursuits.
