Andrea Curtis explores colour, pattern and still life through a combination of print, collage and drawing.  At first glance, her work appears deceptively simple, but look deeper and you see her unique language of marks and colour combinations are given depth and texture by the layering of tissue and painted papers.

Still life and flowers have always been a favourite subject.  She is fascinated by the stories that can be told simply by a collection of objects.  This series of work is a slight departure from previous work as she introduces printed techniques such as linocut and monoprint, combined with painting and drawing, to create more abstract, contemporary pieces.

Andrea graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1987, with a BA in textile design, followed by an MA in printmaking from Newport Art College.

She has spent the last 20 years creating colour schemes for both domestic and commercial projects, often adding her own artworks as part of the decoration.

2019 saw a change in direction, with Andrea deciding to devote more of her time to her art practice.  She now works from her garden studio in south Wales, regularly hosting open days and running creative workshops.
