Holly MacDonald is an artist currently based at her studio in West Berkshire.  Holly graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 2018, having studied painting.

Over lockdown, Holly has immersed herself in the joy of exploring her media and absorbing the vibrance and pleasure of village life.  Painting shaded roads where the trees have moulded to vehicles passing through, or the natural weathering of ancient ruins that have been reclaimed by the landscape.

Spending time in Ireland, Devon, and the West Coast of Scotland, Holly’s work captures the beauty of theses hidden parts of the world, untainted by the speed of modern life.  When visiting these remote locations, the cares of the rest of the world fade away.

Holly will be attending Glasgow School of Art this coming September to study a Masters, and will continue to paint the Scottish Highlands, being right on her doorstep.
