Kathy Montgomery was born and educated in South Africa. After graduating with a BA (Hons) from the University of Cape Town, she moved to London in 1968 where she has pursued her painting career ever since.  She studied at Bristol Polytechnic and later with Robin Child at the Wedhampton Art Research Centre.  She now lives and works in Wiltshire.

Kathy’s initial inspiration is taken from an object or a landscape.  Her aim is not to represent exactly what she sees but to develop it into a dynamic composition and a harmonious whole.

She has exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy, The Rosvik Collective and the Bath Society of Artists.  Her work is held in private collections in the UK, France, USA and New Zealand.
